Exhibition: Venüs Saat Yönünde Döner – E.S. Kibele Yarman

Presented from a singular point of view and offering a worldview we are not used to, E.S. Kibele Yarman’s solo exhibition brings her work to art lovers. Vision Art Platform is hosting “Venüs Saat Yönünde Döner | Venus Rotates Clockwise”, a new solo exhibition by E S Kibele Yarman. Opening on Tuesday 20 February 2024 at 18:00, the exhibition can be visited until 23 March 2024 at Vision Art Platform, Akaretler No:35.

Born of Yarman’s need “to transform what exists and to re-express it through other existing things”, her method of production relates the singularities and dualities she addresses to one another, placing the viewer in a perspective that calls into question (that summons to critique) both cosmic and social dimensions and, along the way, the topos and the ethics-aesthetics of settlement.

As the artist’s works redefine (our) coordinates from the outset through the optical shift they promise, they will, with the momentum drawn from their dark ground, relate to “dark matter” and set out to offer the viewer “the recipe for an event that has not yet happened”.

”On the threshold of a conversion (a turning) made possible by new relations, while searching for her own likeness in the reflection of familiar yet anonymous faces, the effort to redefine her coordinates in the universe will reveal itself in the trace of the material she uses”
– in the trace of (the) stitch.

… and now;

With the exhibition Venüs Saat Yönünde Döner at Vision Art Platform, we witness Kibele’s narrative performances and the new, dynamic narratives these performances create.

”We encounter spatial stories, loosely knitted with an invisible thread, at a 1:1 scale, which we can walk through, become part of, and in which we too can make our own stitches and knots. Kibele’s table is perceived through volumes; it is set up in lit rooms, hung on coloured walls, rises from the floor, hangs from the ceiling, makes us look through a narrow gap, flutters in a veil. It forms a web.”
