On 24 November, Istanbul’s Atatürk Cultural Centre (AKM) will open its doors to the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble’s spellbinding show “Hungarian Rhapsody”.
The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble will meet Istanbul’s art lovers with “Rhapsody”, a show marked by sweeping emotional swells that captures both the acrobatic energy of Hungarian folk dance and the lyricism of its couple dances.
In this special performance, with István Pál Szalonna as artistic director and Gábor Mihályia as ensemble director and choreographer, the loveliest melodies of Hungarian folk music will be performed by soloists and orchestra. The ensemble, which also includes Turkish dances in its repertoire, will make room for Turkish music in the show as well, with Erdal Şalikoğlu and Gökhan Alptekin appearing as guest artists.
Hungarian Rhapsody, a performance by the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble – the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble Dance Company and Orchestra, 24 November at 20.00 in the AKM Theatre Hall.
