Titanic, one of the most powerful films in cinema history, is now being presented live together with its unforgettable score. As James Cameron’s cult masterpiece is shown on the big screen at Volkswagen Arena on 7 February, organised by Piu Entertainment, James Horner’s legendary music will be performed live by the 130-strong Istanbul Film Orchestra, the Sirene Choir and Celtic musicians under the baton of conductor Timothy Henty.
Holding the title of the best-selling orchestral film soundtrack in history, James Horner’s score sold more than 30 million copies and turned Titanic from a film into a phenomenon. The 1997 blockbuster, one of the most watched and talked-about films of all time, reached a global box office of more than 2 billion dollars and won 11 Oscars®, writing its name in cinema history in letters of gold. Alongside Best Picture and Best Director, memorable categories such as Best Original Song and Best Original Dramatic Score crowned the film’s success.
One of the most prolific names in film music, James Horner scored more than 100 films over his career; cult productions such as Avatar, Braveheart, Aliens, Apollo 13, Star Trek II and The Amazing Spider-Man bear the mark of his musical genius.
At the 2015 premiere of Titanic Live, James Cameron described the experience in these words:
“This experience is beyond anything I have seen in the cinema. When the music becomes dominant, you realise how much it really drives the emotions of the film. I had huge emotional surges where I felt the exhilaration of the love story and, at the same time, the fear and horror. It’s a wonderful experience.”
Now this unique experience comes to audiences in Türkiye for the first time.
This special night, organised by Piu Entertainment, will be an unmissable occasion for film lovers and music enthusiasts alike.
