The first official trailer has been released for “The Exorcist: Martyrs” (Turkish title: “The Exorcist: Kurbanlar”), written and directed by Mike Flanagan. Starring Scarlett Johansson, the film opens exclusively in cinemas on 12 March 2027.
Based on characters created by William Peter Blatty, the film casts Johansson as Julie Miller, a New York detective who became a hero thirteen years ago by ending the reign of terror of Satanist serial killer Father Sunday. When a new killer writes her name on the walls of a church crypt, Miller is dragged back into the darkness she thought she had buried with him.
With the help of former prison chaplain Father William (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and rookie detective Gina Restrepo (Sasha Calle), Miller uncovers a trail linking a line of serial killers from H.H. Holmes to the Zodiac.
The cast also includes Diane Lane, Jacobi Jupe, Scoot McNairy, Gil Bellows, Laurence Fishburne and John Leguizamo as Father Sunday. The film is produced by David Robinson, Jason Blum and Mike Flanagan.
