Formula 1 has announced the calendar for the 2027 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix will begin with practice and qualifying on 1–2 October, followed by the race at TOSFED Istanbul Park on 3 October 2027.
Returning to Istanbul after six years, the race will be held at TOSFED Istanbul Park for the 10th time. The roughly 5.3-kilometre circuit, with its marked elevation changes and multi-apex Turn 8, is regarded as one of the most technically demanding on the calendar.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said the calendar announcement marked an important milestone in preparations, adding that projects bringing Istanbul’s history, culture and gastronomy together with Formula 1’s global reach would be launched. Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak and TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı also emphasised that preparations are under way.
The “Catch It If You Can” promotional film produced by the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) has surpassed 570 million views. Formula 1 races will be held at TOSFED Istanbul Park under TOSFED’s organisation from 2027 to 2031.
