A special selection from “Dönüşen Yeryüzü”, the first major solo exhibition in Türkiye by pioneering photographer Edward Burtynsky, held at Perili Köşk in the 2025–2026 season, is on view at Akra Antalya from 9 to 20 November during the COP31 United Nations Climate Change Conference. The selection was prepared in collaboration between Borusan Holding and Borusan Contemporary.
For more than four decades the Canadian artist has documented the impact of human activity on the planet, making visible the traces left by progress through sweeping images of industrial sites, mines and farmland.
A highlight of the exhibition is the “Erosion” series, commissioned by the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection with the support of the TEMA Foundation. Made up of aerial images Burtynsky shot across Anatolia, the series brings the land’s millennia-old memory and human intervention into the same frame.
The selection is accompanied by “In the Wake of Progress”, a 22-minute immersive multimedia work combining images from the artist’s long career with music by composer Phil Strong, shown in Türkiye for the first time.
