“Lumina: Renk ve Işık Sanatı”, an exhibition on the art of colour and light and the first major show in a series developed by Arkas Sanat and the Centre Pompidou, is on view at the Lucien Arkas Art Centre in İzmir. Opened on 26 September 2026, it runs until 14 February 2027.
Curated by Anna Hiddleston and Noémie Fillon, the exhibition brings together 83 works from the Centre Pompidou collection, exploring the transformation of colour and light in 20th-century art through artists such as Georges Braque, Vassily Kandinsky, Gerhard Richter, Joan Mitchell, Bridget Riley and Victor Vasarely.
It is the first step in a 2026–2031 collaboration of ten exhibitions organised around five thematic seasons, with İş Sanat as exhibition sponsor. İş Sanat General Manager Defne Turaç notes that the Centre Pompidou, closed for renovation, decided to tour its collection, and that İzmir and Arkas Sanat became one of its stops.
